[me…back in July]
Hot damn, I haven’t blogged in 2 weeks! For
that I have many things to blame, but who cares about excuses?
Not I! In any event, THANK YOU for sticking around and checking
back for updates.
This week marks the beginning of Art Basel.
This is the event’s 10th year in Miami and just in case you
aren’t familiar with it, here’s a short blurb:
…The most prestigious art show in the Americas. More than
260 leading galleries from North America, Europe, Latin
America, Asia and Africa will take part, showcasing works by
more than 2,000 artists of the 20th and 21st
centuries.
Amazing right? I liken it to NY, London, Paris, and Milan
Fashion Week all in one “week” for art. I knew when I came down
here that Art Basel would be one of the things on my to do list.
I’ll be there along with Veronica from
Best of Palm Beach Consignment
and we’re going to have so much fun! With that, I leave you with
a list of events that I’m most excited about on the Art Basel
lineup:
R29 Miami Launch
The Refinery29 Miami Launch party, enough said! There’s this
vintage Roberto Cavalli minidress that I picked up for the event
and I CANNOT wait to wear it.
The Vogue Lounge
This looks awesome, 1. because it’s Vogue 2. because I love
branded lounges during special events 3. because it’s Vogue. I
know it’s Art Basel, but what is art without a little fashion in
the mix? For your fashion fix there’ll be collaborations by
Keds, Bond No. 9, and Dee and Ricky!
Music Loves Art
Cool collaboration between Spotify and Ricochet, you can’t go
wrong with visual artists, DJs, and performers coming together
to mix it up nightly.
Artistically Fashioned
The best of Haitian art, fashion, and interior design for a
cause! The event will raise funds for CareOneBit.org. I am all
about supporting causes, so this event definitely stood out to
me amongst the rest.
Andy Warhol’s San Diego Surf
Interview Mag and the Andy Warhol Museum debut Warhol’s unseen
film, San Diego Surf, filmed in 1968. Like many many others, I
have a special place in my heart for Andy Warhol and his pieces
and I’m curious to see what one of his films would be like.
