The Neon Shoe DIY You Have To Try

That’s right, summer is here and I’m in LOVE with neons. I’m pushing my “mellow yellows” to the side, in exchange for vibrant, shocking colors. Starting now…
This Bloggers Do It Better Challenge was all about mixing Neutral and Neon colors! [Tweet this]
When I was putting together my outfit, I knew I wanted to stick to a khaki and gray color palette (I’m in love with that color combo for summer by the way) with a splash of neon. I had a safari inspired khaki colored dress and gray strappy sandals…but no neons! Whatever is a girl to do in that sort of predicament? Well this girl headed to Michael’s Arts and Crafts store to pick up some fabric paint and DIY her all gray shoes into this fun color blocked pair. I spotted this cool wall along the West Side Highway and trotted over with Danny to start shooting.

Update!
Since more people are checking out this post: I used the Tulip fabric paint on the top half of my shoe (the fabric part) and acrylic paint on the heel (the plastic part). Use fabric paint for fabrics (Tulip soft paint works well on suedes as well), and acrylic for plastics, etc.
